On packed days, it's easy to feel like you need to be rushing in order to get everything done. Here are the most important takeaways from this video by Cole Hastings:
- When we try to rush through our tasks, the time saved compared to a relaxed pace is usually much less than we realise. Most of the time, it's not worth the anxious draining sensation that you get from feeling rushed all the time (even on tasks with a massive time constraint). All rushing does is create a false sense of efficiency.
- The right mindset: even if you don't rush, you'll get it done anyway. To apply this mindset, you must not try to finish your task as quickly as possible. Focus instead on trying to get into a flow state and being present.
A favourite saying of mine:
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast
